Bada Boom calls itself the kosher Italian of Ashdod, and is run by its chef-owners Yochai Zeno, who comes from a family of fishermen, and Tavor Asraf, who cooks slowly from the taboon. Its site says the pizza dough is made fresh on site every morning and the sauces are made in the kitchen, beside raw fish dishes, rich pastas and slow-cooked plates, with seasonal specials that change with what arrives each day. At lunchtime the room is lit softly with quiet music, and in the evening the lights go down and the pace picks up. Tables are booked online, and takeaway and delivery are ordered by phone.
