A meat restaurant and bar on Ashdod's Arches beach that began as a social pub and is known for its burgers, now with dry-aged steaks beside them
Zeh is a meat restaurant and bar on the Arches beach beside Ashdod's marina, at 1 Mafkura Street, with tables inside, on a terrace and outdoors, and a bar inside and another outside. It opened in about 2011 as what ynet's Lin Levi called, in 2016, the city's first social pub, one that put community involvement and activism in the spirit of the social protest first: in its first five years it hosted a round-table project with some 400 young people and public figures, the city's first Pride parade and collections for families in need. It made its name with burgers. In 2023 mako called the burger its flagship dish, and in 2024 ynet described a social bar-restaurant with chosen music, live shows and nine burgers, one of them vegan. About half a year before mako's guide of April 2025, by mako's account, chef Alex Kostrikin, after more than a decade with the R2M group, joined the owner, Adam Shukron, and the room was redone in the style of a modern meat restaurant, with wine fridges at the bar and a new menu. In that guide mako's Lin Levi, who had eaten at every restaurant in Ashdod, called it the best non-kosher restaurant in the city, and Israel Hayom's Mika Lopo Weiss found in its renewed menu the street food of the American South: cornbread with duck schmaltz, asado fries and the Dirty Pleasure burger of smoked asado. Its summer menu of 2026 starts with sourdough bread and goose schmaltz, beef tartare and a short-rib taco, has steaks from pasture-raised cattle dry-aged for 45 days and cuts on the bone priced by the 100 grams, and seven burgers it calls its superpower, among them In Its Mother's Milk, with cheddar and goat cheese, and a vegan burger; it ends with churros with tahini. It opens at 13:00 every day, Saturday included. Its sister, the New York-style pizzeria ZOT (זאת), opened next door by 2023.

Its Google listing, as Wanderlog copies it, has it open every day from 13:00: to 23:00 from Sunday to Wednesday, to midnight on Thursday and Saturday, and to 18:00 on Friday. Its booking page on Tabit takes table bookings from 13:00 to 22:14 on most days and from 13:00 to 16:44 on Friday. mako's guide of April 2025 printed Sunday to Wednesday and Friday 13:00 to 23:00 and Thursday and Saturday 13:00 to midnight, and Israel Hayom's of the same month 13:00 to 23:00 every day. The municipal tourism company's page for it, last changed in 2023, gives Tuesday to Saturday from 09:00 until the last guest leaves.
