A neighbourhood café on Derech Beit Lehem since 1998 that is also a deli and a gift shop, where every ingredient on the plate is on the shelf to take home.

Kalo was opened in 1998 by Tamar and Kalo, who by their own telling sat on a bench on Derech Beit Lehem and pictured a neighbourhood café with good fresh food and a Jerusalem feel. Over the years they added a deli and a gift shop, and they now call it a small Provence in the middle of Jerusalem: a deli you eat in, a neighbourhood café and a shop. The menu is Mediterranean: salads, sandwiches, a breakfast plate, bourekas, quiches and dishes from the deli counter, and its café page says every ingredient in a dish is sold from the shelf, from the kalamata olives to the sheep's feta. Service is mostly at the counter, and there are tables, chairs and umbrellas outside. Its online shop sells breads and pastries, pantry goods, wine, cheeses and gifts.
