A kosher chef's restaurant in a stone building of 1868 on King David Street, where chef Yankale Turgeman cooks a seasonal menu.

The restaurant takes its name from the year its home was built: in 1868, its site tells, Jews who had moved out of the Old City walls put up a stone building with high arched ceilings, and the restaurant sits in it at 10 King David Street. Chef Yankale Turgeman serves a creative menu built on seasonal produce from the local markets and modern cooking techniques; this autumn it runs from a mushroom and Jerusalem artichoke soup and yellowtail sashimi to smoked duck breast, slow-cooked lamb shoulder and entrecôte by weight, with a tasting menu for the whole table. The wine list draws on wineries of the Judean Hills and the Galilee. Private dinners, business meetings and family celebrations are held in the building's rooms, and the cocktail bar Zuta belongs to the same house. It opens Sunday to Thursday from 18:00, and on Saturday night in winter an hour after Shabbat ends.
