Papagaio is the Jerusalem branch of a chain of Brazilian-style meat restaurants, on Yad Harutsim Street in Talpiot. Its website says the chain opened in Israel in 1996, and its booking page that the chain has hosted more than three million diners; the chain also has a branch in Herzliya. Reviews of the Jerusalem branch on Rest go back to May 2010. Its site calls it the chain's kosher mehadrin branch; the Jerusalem religious council certifies it kosher, for meat, at the regular level. The meal it is built around is the Brazilian table: meats grilled the Brazilian way and brought to the table on large round skewers, which it calls espeto corrido, a shared meal its site traces to the long tables of Brazil's coffee farms, where the workers sat down to a meat meal at the end of the day. Its site also describes juntos, Portuguese for "together": a sizzling platter of meats set in the middle of the table, with sauces chosen by the chef. On its menu of May 2026 the Brazilian table comes as three tasting tables, Rio, Paulo and Moro, from chicken wings, livers and kebab up to asado, London broil and a skewer of aged entrecote, with rice, baked potato and chips; beside them are a 280-gram burger, an aged entrecote steak and chicken thigh in honey and mustard. From Sunday to Thursday, between 12:00 and 17:00, it serves set lunches of a starter and a main with hot sides, and until 17:00 the menu is 15 percent off. The restaurant takes events of up to 150 guests, with a private room for up to 35, sound and projection equipment and a menu built for each event, and Rest's page says a shelter adjoins it. It is closed on Friday and Saturday. Rest's users named it among their ten favourite restaurants of 2025, for the Brazilian table and the large skewers.

These are the hours on its own website: Sunday to Thursday, 12:00 to 23:00. Its Ontopo booking page gives the same, with set lunches from 12:00 to 17:00, and shows it closed on Friday and Saturday, and the city's official tourism site gives the same weekday hours. Its Google listing, as Restaurant Guru and Wanderlog copy it, agrees except on Monday, when it closes at 22:00, and also has it closed on Friday and Saturday. Rest and d.co.il give 12:00 to 23:45 from Sunday to Thursday, and Rest lists it as a Shabbat-observant business. No source gives it hours on Friday or on Saturday night.
