Route 652, at the entrance to Ramat Hanadiv, Zichron Yaakov

A meat restaurant with its own butcher's counter, smokehouse and charcuterie, at the entrance to Ramat Hanadiv

Doris Katzavim is a meat restaurant with a butcher's counter and a charcuterie of its own, in a building at the entrance to Ramat Hanadiv on Route 652, south of the centre of Zichron Yaakov. Chef Adam Vayeh opened the first Doris Katzavim in Rosh Pina in 2004; Rest dates the Zichron Yaakov restaurant to 2010, and ynet named Eran Vizel as his partner in 2018. Its site calls it a butcher's steakhouse and says the cuts are aged in the French way, without vacuum packing, the steaks are cut before the diners' eyes at the butcher's counter, and the burger meat is ground fresh every day. The menu sells the cuts by weight, from onglet and picanha to tomahawk and fillet, beside meat from its own smokehouse and sausages made by hand in the charcuterie, which ynet reported was built beside the restaurant in 2015. Doris Ha-Ktana, the charcuterie, serves smoked-meat sandwiches, sausages in a bun and burgers from noon, and the butcher's shop sells beef, lamb and chicken, smoked cuts, wine and cheeses, and the chef's two books, one on meat and one on smoking. Mako's 2022 guide described a large outdoor plaza whose seats look out over a wide view from the raised compound, and a spacious room that is comfortable with children. It is open on Friday and Saturday and closed on Sunday.
