Passover began at sundown on Saturday 12 April, and ended at nightfall on Saturday 19 April in Israel and Sunday 20 April elsewhere. The first seder was on Saturday night, and outside Israel a second on Sunday night.
Erev Pesach is a Shabbat this year, so the search for chametz is on Thursday night, it is burned on Friday morning, and the fast of the firstborn moves to Thursday.

What happens in Israel
The whole country changes over: supermarket shelves are covered, bakeries switch to matzah, and the first and last days are full public holidays with everything closed. The middle days are a national travel week.
