Elad Edri

Elad Edri was born in 1980

Elad Edri was born in 1980 to Ilana and Simon Edri, the eldest of 3 brothers. He grew up in Rishon LeZion and later in Beit Dagan. He is divorced, has one child and lives in Kfar Yona.

He holds a bachelor's degree in general history from the Hebrew University. He earned a master's degree in public administration and national security from the University of Haifa, and a second master's degree from the Royal College of Defence Studies in England.

He joined the Paratroopers Brigade in 1999 and trained as a fighter in Battalion 101. He held command posts in the brigade and at the infantry squad commanders school. After the IDF Command and Staff College in 2013, he moved to the Home Front Command.

In the Home Front Command he took part in rescue missions to Nepal and Mexico. He commanded the Kedem Battalion, the command's school and the Haifa District. From 2022 he commanded the Search and Rescue Brigade, leading the IDF mission to Turkey in 2023 and serving through the Swords of Iron war until August 2024.

In 2022 he published two books on rescue missions, one co-written with Tal Levi Diamenstein about the Miami building collapse. He also wrote 6 articles for the journal Maarachot. He became chief of staff of the Home Front Command in August 2025.
