Zion Ratzon was born in 1975 in Israel
Zion Ratzon was born in 1975 in Israel. He lives in Even Yehuda, is married to Michal and has 4 children.
He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Ruppin Academic Center. He also earned a master's degree in political science and national security from the University of Haifa.
He joined the IDF in 1993 and served in Battalion 932 of the Nahal Brigade, rising from platoon commander to company commander. In the Lebanon security zone he commanded outposts, and in May 2000 he handed the Rotem outpost over to the South Lebanon Army. In 2006, during the Second Lebanon War, he became commander of Battalion 50.
He later commanded the Bar'am Formation from 2012 to 2014 and headed the training department of the Ground Forces. He commanded the Kfir Brigade from 2017 to 2019 and then became a brigadier general and chief of staff of Southern Command. In 2022 he took command of the Bashan Division, and in 2025 he was chosen to head the Command and Staff College.
