2. ייעוץ משפטי לממשלה
במתן ייעוץ משפטי לממשלה, היועץ המשפטי לממשלה יסייע לממשלה בכל אלה:
(1)להגשים את מדיניות הממשלה ויעדיה, כפי שקבעה מזמן לזמן, ככל יכולתו, ויצביע בפניה על החלופות המשפטיות להגשמתם, והכול במסגרת הדין ותוך הקפדה על שמירתו;
(2)להשליט חוק ומשפט ברשות המבצעת ולהנהיג בה אחידות ותיאום בפרשנות הדין.
