159. פרסום ידיעות כוזבות הגורמות פחד ובהלה

(א)המפרסם או משעתק אמרה, שמועה או ידיעה העלולות לעורר פחד ובהלה בציבור או להפריע את שלומו, והוא יודע, או יש לו יסוד להניח, שהן כוזבות, דינו – מאסר שלוש שנים.
(ב)באישום לפי סעיף קטן (א) תהא לנאשם הגנה טובה בטענה שלא ידע, או שלא היה לו יסוד להניח, שהאמרה, השמועה או הידיעה הן כוזבות, ובלבד שהוכיח שנקט אמצעים סבירים כדי לאמת את דיוקן לפני פרסומן.
