נאשם שבחר להעיד, לא יישאל בחקירה שכנגד שאלות בענין הנוגע להרשעותיו הקודמות, מלבד אם העיד על אופיו הטוב או הביא ראיה אחרת לכך, בין בראיותיו ובין בחקירה שכנגד של עדי התביעה.
