Avraham Tal taught himself music as a boy in the Golan Heights and became the voice of Shotei HaNevua
Avraham Tal was born in 1976 in Nir Moshe and grew up in Neve Ativ, in the Golan Heights. He never studied music formally: he taught himself keyboards, drums, bass and flute, and still writes, composes and produces his albums without music theory. After his army service he joined Shotei HaNevua, where he sang and wrote from 1998 until the band broke up in 2007, including the songs Mi and Kol Galgal.
His first solo song, a cover of Dorit Reuveni's Adam Tzover Zichronot, reached number two on Galgalatz's annual chart, and his debut album, Avraham Tal, followed in 2008. Orot (2010) sold more than 40,000 copies and went platinum: Mechuzakim LaOlam topped the Galgalatz and Reshet Gimel charts, Orot was song of the year on Galgalatz and at ACUM, and he was Galgalatz's singer of the year. Shoshana followed in 2013 and Achshav HaChayim in 2016.
On stage he moved up to the big venues, playing the Caesarea amphitheatre for the first time in 2017 and Heichal HaTarbut in Tel Aviv in 2018, and released the live albums Avraham Tal LIVE (2017) and Kesariya (2023). He joined the judges of The Voice Israel in 2016, released his fifth studio album, Chai, in 2025, and in 2026 toured a joint show with Mosh Ben Ari.
