Peter Roth won a teenage talent contest in 1989 and joined Monica Sex a few years later
Peter Roth was born in 1974 in Bat Yam and grew up in Holon. He played in several teenage bands, and in 1989 his band Feedback won first place in the Kolot VeTzlilim talent contest of the weekly Maariv LaNoar, which put him on television for the first time.
In the early 1990s he joined Monica Sex, with Shachar Even-Tzur, Yahli Sobol and Yossi Hamami; their 1995 album Ptza'im VeNeshikot sold tens of thousands of copies, and he composed Har Shel Beigelach for it. The band has kept recording, with Laila Chadash in 2019, and spent the summer of 2025 on stage marking 30 years since its debut album.
His first solo album, Peter Roth (2005), won him ACUM's discovery of the year award. He produced and arranged Arik Einstein's Shtei Gitarot Bass Tupim (2004) and their joint album Regaim (2006), played bass in Shlomo Artzi's band from 2007 to 2012, recorded the songs of Shmulik Chizik on Shar Chizik (2010), and in 2025 released his third solo album, 50: ten songs, almost all of them written and composed by him.
