Mosh Ben-Ari studied music from India to Sinai and wrote Salaam, the band Sheva's biggest hit
Mosh Ben-Ari was born in Afula in 1970. He began playing guitar at 16 and went on to study music around the world, in India, the Sahara and Sinai among other places, and he plays string instruments from several traditions, among them the Indian sarod, the Persian tar and the Moroccan sintir. In the 1990s he was one of the founders of the band Sheva, and for its first album, in 1997, he wrote and composed Salaam (Od Yavo Shalom Aleinu), which is considered the band's biggest hit.
His first solo album, Ad Elay, came out in 2001, with duets with Shotei HaNevua on Jah Is One and with Din Din Aviv. Derech (2004), on which he wrote and composed every song, and Masa UMatan (2006) both went gold, and in 2007 he released a double live album produced by Filoni. His music blends rock, soul and reggae with Eastern and world music.
From Tistakel Li BaEinayim (2011), the song Stakel Li BaEinayim reached the top of the charts, and in 2014 he was a mentor on the third season of The Voice Israel. In 2019 he recorded the duet Mashehu Hayav Likrot with Shlomo Artzi, in 2024 he released the joint album Poem Bi MeHadash with Aviv Bachar, and in June 2026 he and Avraham Tal opened their first joint show at Kav Rakia in Ariel Sharon Park.
