Jimbo J, born Omer Havron, took his stage name from a teenage ICQ nickname
Jimbo J is the stage name of Omer Havron, born in 1985 in Rehovot; the name was his nickname on ICQ as a teenager. In high school he rapped in N.O.D, which later became the trio Victor Jackson, and from 2012 he co-wrote and acted in the rap opera HaIr HaZot at the Incubator Theater, which won the Golden Porcupine award and became a film in 2023.
In 2016 he crowdfunded his debut album and raised about 155 percent of his goal. Bo'u Lifnei (2017), recorded with Spa, the band he formed for it, was named Walla's album of the year, and its song Asiti drew dozens of cover versions online. Ma Raperim Rotzim (2019) followed, then Ovdei Namal (2021), whose song Hatulim reached the top of the charts.
Stalbet BaKibbutz, his 2022 song with the band Full Trunk, was named song of the year by Galgalatz, Radio Tel Aviv and Kan 88 and won an ACUM award, and in 2024 Galgalatz named him songwriter of the year. After Ah Wow (2023) and the live album Adayin Chai BaGadol (2025), he released his fifth album, Hakol Tov, in January 2026.
