74 Rogozin Street, Ashdod

An Italian restaurant at the southern end of Rogozin Street, looking out over the amphitheatre and the Arches beach, with taboon pizzas, pastas, vegetable plates and breakfasts, open on Saturday

Barbarini is an Italian restaurant at 74 Rogozin Street, at the southern end of the street in Ashdod's Rova Dalet, a few minutes' walk from the Arches beach. In its own words it sits in a pastoral corner looking out to the sea, with a young atmosphere, and serves Italian food that meets the Mediterranean and the season's vegetables, from taboon pizzas, late breakfasts and pastas to fresh first courses, with a menu that changes every month, specials that change every weekend, and plenty of wine and cocktails. Israel Hayom wrote in May 2021 that it opened where Casa Uno, a well-known Ashdod restaurant, used to be, that it was run by Shai Amar, an Ashdod man with many years in nightlife and bars, who had lately been joined by two new partners, Tamir Dadon and Tal Biton, and that local artists showed their work there every month. The company that runs it, Barbarini Restaurant Ltd, was incorporated in October 2018. Listing Ashdod's best restaurants for mako in April 2025, Lin Levi described a fashionable young Italian place where locals come for brunch or for the pastas, open on Saturday, with vintage furniture, an open kitchen and an outside terrace looking over the amphitheatre and the Arches beach; in September 2025 she put it on mako's list of Israel's best Italian restaurants, recommending its breakfasts, a Friday aperitivo, its vegetable dishes and a pizza of cauliflower, feta, basil and charred onion. Israel Hayom's Mika Lopo Weiss called it a European bistro in April 2025: small plates like a Greek taverna's, Spanish-style tapas and Italian pastas, tables inside or in the sun outside with the smell of the sea, and a drinks list that covers most of Europe. In April 2023, as the local news site Ashdodi reported, it began inviting guest chefs to take over its kitchen for a Friday evening, the first of them Eden Froimovich of the sixth season of Game of Chefs. It opens every day from breakfast until late at night, except on Friday, when it closes at 16:00.

Sources disagree on these hours

These are the hours on its booking page on Ontopo, which also says the breakfast menu is served from 10:00 to 14:00 on Sunday to Thursday and from 09:00 to 12:00 on Friday and Saturday. Its Google listing, as Wanderlog copies it, opens at 09:30 from Sunday to Thursday and at 12:00 on Saturday, and closes at 16:30 on Friday. In April 2025 mako printed Sunday to Thursday 10:00 to 23:00 and Israel Hayom 09:30 to 23:30, both with Friday from 09:00 and Saturday from 09:00 to midnight, Friday until 16:00 in mako and until 16:30 in Israel Hayom. The city's tourism site, whose entry was last updated in September 2023, gives Sunday to Thursday 12:00 to midnight and Friday and Saturday 10:00 to midnight. Wolt delivers from 12:00 to 23:00 every day; those are ordering hours. Its listing on d.co.il gives daytime hours that are not the restaurant's.
