The Uri and Rami Nehushtan Museum was founded in June 1958 by Meir Nehushtan, a member of the kibbutz, in memory of his two sons, both gifted young painters, who died at seventeen: Uri fell in the 1948 war in the battle for Ramla and Lod, and Rami died of a snake bite six years later. The first building was designed by the architects Shulamit and Michael Nadler and was enlarged in 1962, 1971, 1986 and 2009; today it has three galleries for changing exhibitions, a gallery for the permanent display and the collection, and a sculpture garden in the yard. In 2018 the Shatz Library wing opened in the kibbutz's former library and archive building, as the education centre with a further exhibition hall. The museum shows changing exhibitions of artists working in Israel and abroad, a permanent display dedicated to the two brothers, and a collection of School of Paris painting and sculpture and of Israeli artists, especially of the Jordan Valley; its education department runs guided tours from kindergarten to high school and programmes for adults.
