9 Tarshish Street, Eilat

A Thai restaurant with a sushi menu in Eilat's hotel district, opened in 2023 by the owners of Pastory, with Thai cooks at work in an open kitchen and a tuk-tuk at the door

Thaistory is the Thai restaurant of Nimrod and Keren Shaked, the owners of Pastory, the long-running Italian restaurant a few steps away on Tarshish Street in Eilat's hotel district; mako reported in April 2023 that it had opened for a trial run a few weeks earlier. By its own account, Thai cooks work in an open kitchen with spices and ingredients imported from Thailand, and its Thai vegetables are grown for it by farmers in the Arava. ynet reported in 2024 that the cooks were trained by a well-known chef from Koh Samui, that some of the seasonings grow in the restaurant's own yard, and that the menu has seafood but no pork. A tuk-tuk in the colours of the Thai flag stands at the entrance, cut in two to bring it to Israel and put back together here, and mako described a covered terrace at the entrance, a bar and two seating areas inside, and straw and bamboo in the design. The menu runs from som tam, nam tok and pomelo salad to curries, wok dishes and a whole fried sea bass, with a long sushi list beside them, and many dishes come at the spice level you choose. mako's 2024 guide singled out the morning glory and the nam tok, and Rest's Lior Neufeld wrote in April 2025 that he went to Eilat for the pool and stayed for its pomelo salad. mako's 2026 guide calls it much loved and always full, and advises booking ahead. It is not kosher, and it is open on Saturdays.

Its website gives Monday to Saturday, 13:00 to 16:30 and 18:00 to 22:30: it closes between lunch and dinner, and all day on Sunday. Its booking page on Ontopo, which its website links, gives the same days and ends lunch at 16:00. Its Google listing, as Wanderlog copies it, has the same times but keeps it closed on Monday as well. Rest lists only 18:00 to 23:00 from Monday to Thursday, and lunch and dinner on Saturday, and the town's tourism site gives 13:00 to 23:00, Monday to Saturday, in Hebrew and 19:00 to midnight daily in English.
