A museum of nature, settlement and heritage at Kibbutz Ein Harod Meuhad, opened in 1941 in memory of Haim Sturman, with a nature hall and a hall on Orde Wingate and the Special Night Squads

Beit Sturman opened at Ein Harod in 1941; its site calls it the first museum of settlement in the Land of Israel and one of the first in the country for nature, history and heritage. It was set up in memory of Haim Sturman, one of the founders of Ein Harod, a man of the Second Aliyah and of the HaShomer and Hagana organisations, who was killed in 1938 with two companions when their car hit a mine while they were looking for places for new settlements in the Beit She'an Valley for the Jewish National Fund. Today it is a regional museum of several fields with permanent collections, a gallery of changing exhibitions, conferences and events; its permanent exhibitions include the museum yard, the Atara auditorium on the Sturman family's story, the nature hall and "The Friend", a hall on Orde Charles Wingate and the Special Night Squads. The museum is air-conditioned and suits families, individuals and groups of all ages, with shaded picnic tables in its yard, cold drinking water and guided tours by arrangement.
