A Jerusalem fish and meat restaurant since 1967, kosher since January 2025, in a preserved stone building on the Ben Shatah pedestrian street

Sea Dolphin, Dolphin Yam in Hebrew, is a fish and meat restaurant on Shimon Ben Shatah, a pedestrian street in the city centre near the Russian Compound, in a preserved Jerusalem stone building a short walk from Mamilla and the Old City. Kol Ha'ir wrote that Dalia and Shraga Rosenzweig founded it in 1967, and its own site calls it the oldest fish and meat restaurant in Jerusalem and a family institution. For 57 years it was not kosher and was known for seafood: ynet's list of 2022 named its seafood pan in white wine, scallops and shrimps in cream sauce, fried crabs and black mussels. On 6 January 2025 it reopened as a kosher meat restaurant, closed on Shabbat and holidays and without its shrimps, calamari and mussels. Its owners, Einat and Eyal Dolev and Yonatan Cohen, told Kol Ha'ir they made the change to open it to diners who keep kosher, and mako wrote in 2026 that it came after the restaurant had asked to cook for soldiers during the war. Chef Oren Yerushalmi leads the kosher menu, which keeps the classic fish and meat dishes beside newer seasonal ones: sea bass, sea bream, trout from the Dan stream, red mullet and Dover sole, a sea bream shawarma, a whole sea bass from the stone oven, ceviche and kebab of sea fish, wild fish for sharing by weight, and an aged entrecôte, lamb kebab and a burger for meat eaters; a house taramasalata is among the starters. mako described white tablecloths and an elegant Jerusalem atmosphere. Beside the kitchen are a cocktail bar and a wine list of mostly Israeli wines, with older vintages from its own cellar. A separate floor takes private events and groups of up to 50, with a large screen, a projector and its own sound system, and has hosted business events, birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs and small weddings. From Sunday to Thursday its business lunch takes 10% off the whole menu until 17:00, and it takes takeaway orders through its own ordering page. In July 2026 mako and the Foodos kosher community put it on their list of the 50 best kosher restaurants in Israel.

Sources disagree on these hours

Its website's contact page, last changed on 21 July 2026, gives Sunday to Thursday 12:00 to 23:00, Friday from 12:00 until an hour before Shabbat begins, and Saturday night closed; its home page adds that the kitchen closes at 23:00. Its Friday closing therefore moves with the season: the 16:30 shown here is its Google listing's, as Wanderlog and the copy in its Tabit booking record, dated 15 September 2026, give it, with Saturday closed. Restaurant Guru's older copy of the listing has it open on Saturday from 19:00 to 23:00, and its Tabit booking schedule still offers tables on Saturday evening from 20:30. Wolt takes orders from it from 12:00 to 23:00, until midnight on Thursday, until 17:00 on Friday and from 20:00 to midnight on Saturday: those are ordering hours. Kol Ha'ir reported in January 2025 that since turning kosher it does not open on Shabbat or on holidays.
