A holiday village of more than 100 wooden and stone zimmers on Biankini Beach on the northern Dead Sea shore, near Kibbutz Kalya

Biankini Village has stood on the northern shore of the Dead Sea since 2002, near Kibbutz Kalya and the Lido junction, about half an hour's drive from Jerusalem. Its site says it was founded by its owner as a continuation of General Angelo Levi Bianchini's work of building and making the desert bloom, and that her family runs it with a large staff of every community and faith. It has more than 100 guest units of wood and stone, from compact double rooms and garden and desert zimmers to mini suites, compounds designed after a Turkish sultan's palace and after Morocco, and a villa with six bedrooms, a private pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna. The village has a semi-Olympic freshwater pool and a toddlers' pool, a bathing beach with natural black mud, a kosher Moroccan restaurant, a salt room, a synagogue, a games room, lawns and event gardens, with guards around the clock.
