A museum of archaeology and glass in the stone glass-bottle factory begun in 1891 on what is now Kibbutz Nahsholim, by Tel Dor on the Carmel coast

The Mizgaga Museum stands in an imposing two-storey stone building in the heart of Kibbutz Nahsholim on the Carmel coast, which Baron Edmond de Rothschild set up in 1891 as a factory for glass bottles for the wineries of Rishon LeZion and Zichron Yaakov, with Meir Dizengoff, later the first mayor of Tel Aviv, as its manager. The factory closed after many difficulties and was abandoned; in 1980 members of the kibbutz began restoring the building, alongside the excavations at Tel Dor and the nearby bays, which used it for workshops and display rooms. Today it shows finds from those digs beside changing exhibitions of glass and ceramic artists from Israel and abroad. Next to the museum stands a full-size replica of a large wooden ship that sank south of Dor around 400 BCE; built from 2014, the replica sailed 99 times along the eastern Mediterranean coast, Cyprus included, before its last voyage by truck to the yard of the Nahsholim hotel.
