Urfa is the shawarma bar of chef Yonatan Zarihan. It opened in February 2026, Israel Hayom wrote, and mako placed it in a commercial complex in one of Netanya's neighbourhoods of tower blocks, on Ben Zvi Boulevard in Agamim. Before it he worked beside chef David Ben Abu at Amaya in Rehovot and led the kitchen of Sense in Netanya, and he told mako that he wants to bring restaurant kitchens into the world of shawarma, in the salads as well as the meat. Two spits turn: female turkey roasted with goose fat, and veal layered with lamb's tail fat, each marinated overnight in spices and charred vegetables. A condiment counter holds red and green schug, finely chopped tomato salad, chershi, a mashwiya of charred vegetables, garlic confit, chopped cucumbers, hummus and preserved lemon, beside a salad station of grated carrot, cabbage, cucumber with dill, fried aubergine and charred hot peppers, and the chef makes his own pickles and spreads, among them fermented garlic with honey and a schug of cardamom and urfa pepper. Chicken breast, chicken thigh, merguez and kebab made on the premises are grilled on skewers. In February 2026 a pita with 220 grams of meat cost 55 shekels and a plate with 300 grams 79. mako's review called it a chef's shawarma of a new generation, and in April mako put it on its list of the best street food in Israel for 2026, writing that the place is as clean as a pharmacy and as pretty as a restaurant. In September Israel Hayom counted it among the 26 promising restaurants that opened between September 2025 and August 2026. It is kosher, meat and mehadrin, by the Netanya religious council's list.
