An omelette-sandwich stand by Netanya railway station, where Yosi Ben Aroya has made giant baguettes of herb omelette and sausage on the plancha since 2002

Yosi Chvita is the omelette-sandwich stand of Yosi Ben Aroya, who was born in Netanya, on Derech HaRakevet by Netanya railway station. By Israel Hayom's account it has been there since 2002, the year the stickers on the stand gave when mako visited in 2024; ynet wrote in 2021 that it had stood on the road for 18 years, and Channel 13 in 2023 for 22. It is a small, plain booth at the entrance to a factory, in the corner of a parking area, hidden from the road by its customers' cars, mako wrote; ynet's columnist noticed first a large square canopy, of the kind cafés and beaches have, and a sign in yellow letters on white that is hard to read, and Yosi told him he has no wish to advertise, since his customers know where he is. He works two planchas with ten omelettes on each at any one time (mako). The complete sandwich is a very large hollowed baguette spread with mild arissa and mayonnaise and filled with a huge, crisp herb omelette and salami grilled on the plancha; it comes on parchment paper with tomato, cucumber, pickle, hot pepper, red onion and olives, and a bowl of garlic confit seared on the plancha sits on the counter. ynet's columnist had merguez with fennel and plenty of coriander in half a giant baguette, and Israel Hayom picked the complete with sausage or kabanos. Most customers, soldiers, workers and renovators among them, take a sandwich for the road; there are two picnic tables with parasols and three bar stools, a tefillin stand beside it, and psychedelic trance from a big speaker, the same music for 22 years, Channel 13 reported. ynet arrived three minutes before the morning rush. Asked his secret, Yosi told Israel Hayom "free love". In 2023, when another Netanya omelette sandwich went viral, Channel 13 reported his claim to be the original. mako put it on its list of the tastiest street food in Israel for 2026, quoting its slogan, "ככה פשוט על הנייר" (simply, on the paper), and Israel Hayom named it in November 2025 among four Netanya places that make the city a street-food empire. It is kosher and meat, and open Sunday to Thursday from 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon by mako's listing. The religious council's lists and mako's 2026 list give its address as Derech HaRakevet 6; mako in 2024, Israel Hayom in 2025 and Channel 13 in 2023 give number 8.
