Lewinsohn Winery was founded by Ido Lewinsohn with his father Amnon; Ido is a Master of Wine, who studied winemaking in Italy and worked at Sassicaia in Tuscany and at wineries in the Rhône valley and in Tasmania before coming home in 2007 to set up the family winery. Visitors can walk among the barrels and tanks, hear about the vineyards and how the wine is made from its wine guides, and choose between tasting flights with cheeses; larger groups, private events, toasts, business meetings and master classes in its barrel room are arranged ahead. In the evenings the courtyard becomes a wine bar, open Monday to Saturday from 18:00 to 23:00, pouring Lewinsohn wines and wines of friends from Israel and abroad by the glass or the bottle, with pizzas made with the Nono family and wine-bar dishes by chef Einav Berman. On Fridays from 11:00 to 16:00 the Garage wine bar pours its Garage de Papa rosé, white and red with cheeses, fresh breads, cured meats and dips, and on Thursday evenings from 19:00 a DJ plays in the courtyard.
