Cafe Europa is a food bar with a cocktail bar upstairs at 9 Rothschild Boulevard, at the southern end of the boulevard in central Tel Aviv. It opened in the summer of 2012 in a narrow three-storey house of red silicate brick that stands back behind the trees between nos. 9 and 11: the architect Hillel Chelouche, son of Yosef Eliyahu Chelouche, built it in the 1930s as his office and home at the back of his father's house, Hebrew Wikipedia lists it as a preserved building, and the staircase railing carries the initials of its first owner. As nrg told it in August 2012, the DJ Shlomi Zidan came upon the empty building on a walk along the boulevard and opened the place with the architect and nightlife figure David Tor, who designed it, and with Maoz Alonim and Itai Hargil of HaBasta, who ran the kitchen; Haaretz described the four in June 2012 as two esteemed chefs, a DJ and a club man. In 2014, Globes reported, Sharon Cohen of Shila took over the kitchen while Tor and Zidan remained the owners, and in 2022 mako credited chef Yarden Shay, who has since moved on to Chacoli, with a revival of the kitchen. Walla now names the kitchen as Arik Schoenberger's, with Ayelet Fattal as its pastry chef for about three years. In its own words it offers a loose Tel Aviv cuisine: an evening starts with dinner in the courtyard under the old tree and goes on at the cocktail bar on the upper floor or on the balcony that looks over the whole restaurant, to Mediterranean music and music from around the world. The evening menu on its booking page runs from Gillardeau oysters at 38 shekels, fish crudo and tuna sashimi to the tartare burger in a milk bun, mixed grilled fish in pita, mussels marinière, a veal sweetbreads skewer from the charcoal grill and an aged entrecôte at 234 shekels; the artichoke carpaccio and the fish in pita were already on the menu Globes reviewed in 2014. From Sunday to Thursday its booking page takes 25 percent off all menus between 17:00 and 19:00. On Friday and Saturday it serves brunch from 11:00 to 16:00: Walla wrote in March 2026 that it opens with Fattal's table of pastries, followed at about noon by the kitchen's Backyard Brunch menu, and Time Out, which put it ninth among the city's brunches in May 2026, mentioned cocktails, live music and changing culinary collaborations. It also has a private events room with its own bartender and a balcony. In January 2025 the mixologist Yegor Prauzenko ran DROP, a three-month pop-up cocktail bar, on its second floor, ynet reported, and in March 2026 Walla noted that the courtyard now has a protected space beside it and put it fourth on its list of the ten restaurants most worth going to. In December 2025 mako reported that Ontopo's booking index counted it among the five most popular restaurants of 2025, and its booking page says Time Out named it Tel Aviv's best bar-restaurant.

These are the hours its booking page on Ontopo gives: from Sunday to Thursday it opens at 17:00, with 25 percent off all menus until 19:00, and closes at midnight, or at 01:00 on Thursday; on Friday and Saturday it serves brunch from 11:00 to 16:00 and opens again from 18:00 to midnight. Walla in March 2026 and Time Out in May 2026 also gave the brunch as 11:00 to 16:00. Its Google listing, as Restaurant Guru copies it, closes at midnight on Thursday and opens at 12:00 on Saturday, and d.co.il and Time Out's English guide give older hours from 19:00.
