Alon Eder writes songs with the warm sound of 1970s Israeli rock
Alon Eder was born in Tel Aviv in 1983. He went to the Tel Aviv School of Arts, finished school in the music track of Alon High School in Ramat HaSharon, sang in the army's Education and Youth Corps band, and later studied for a time at the Rimon School of Music. From 2006 to 2010 he composed music for films and theatre.
His first album, Alon Eder, held 15 songs he composed, arranged and produced himself, eight of them poems set to music. In December 2011 came Alon Eder VeLehaka, the first of a long line of albums with his band, whose sound draws on the progressive rock of 1970s Israel. Alongside them he made two albums played only on Casio keyboards, with protest lyrics: Casio Metunaf (2012) and Casio Za'am (2015).
Mishtalvim BaNof (2018) won the ACUM achievement of the year award named after Uzi Hitman, and the single BaTnua BaMabat from Ken Ken Ken Ken! (2022) entered the Galgalatz playlist. In 2023 he composed songs to Assi Dayan's words for Miri Mesika's project Shelkha, Assi, and in 2025 he released his 11th studio album, HaDelet HaPtucha, recorded with the band.
