Ofer Levi started out singing in Haifa clubs under the stage name Ferdi
Ofer Levi was born in 1964 in Kiryat Ata and first sang on stage at the age of five and a half. After his army service he began performing in Haifa clubs under the stage name Ferdi, a tribute to the Turkish singer Ferdi Tayfur, and in 1988 he released his first album, HaKalfan, arranged by Yaakov Lamai.
His early 1990s albums were big sellers: Kochav Shnot HaTish'im (1991) gave him the hits Yom HaRavakim, Hachziri Li Et Bni and Ma'ayan HaNe'urim, and after Ohev Lihyot (1993) he toured halls such as the Caesarea Theatre and Binyanei HaUma. In 1994 his duet with Lea Lupatin on Naomi Shemer's HaKol Patuach became a big hit, which led to a joint show and the album HaAretz HaMuvtachat (1995).
His later albums include Metzayer Otach (2005), BaDerech SheBacharti (2010), HaIsha Shel Hayai (2014) and Libi Shelach (2015), alongside live recordings from Hangar 11 (2008) and Caesarea (2011). He has sung duets with Eyal Golan (Ratzti Achrayich, 2012), Yishai Levi (Rak At, 2015) and Eden Ben Zaken (Miklat Batuach, 2023), and in 2025 with Hanan Ben Ari on HaYom Kamti Sameach and with Eden Hason. He performs regularly around the country, mostly at Zappa clubs.
