Aviv Geffen's first album sold 200 copies, and it became a landmark of Israeli rock

Aviv Geffen was born in Ramat Gan in 1973 and recorded his first single, Chaver, at 16. His debut album, Ze Rak Or HaYareach, came out in September 1992 and sold only 200 copies that year, but over time it came to be seen as one of the most important Israeli rock albums.

Achshav Me'unan (1993) and Aviv Geffen III (1994) made him Reshet Gimel's singer of the year twice, and he called the growing crowd of fans around him the Moonlight Children. In 2000 he sang the duets of Yoman Masa with Arik Einstein, and in 2001 he formed the band Blackfield with the British musician Steven Wilson.

From 2012 he coached on The Voice Israel, and that year he started Neshef Rock, a yearly rock night that drew about 60,000 people to Park HaYarkon in 2024. In 2014 Mistovev, his duet with Matti Caspi, was the most played song on Israeli radio, and his fourteenth studio album, Historia Shel Te'unot, came out in February 2025.
