Ivri Lider wrote music for dance companies before his first album went platinum

Ivri Lider was born in 1974 on Kibbutz Givat Haim (Ihud) and started playing the piano at five. Before releasing any records of his own he wrote music for dance companies, among them Zina for the Batsheva Dance Company in 1995.

His debut album, Melatef UMeshaker (1997), whose songs he wrote and composed himself, went gold within three months and later platinum, and Yoter Tov Klum MiKim'at (1999) went platinum too. In 2004 he won the Ophir Award for best composer for his score to Eytan Fox's Walk on Water, and in 2005 Galgalatz and Reshet Gimel both named him singer of the year.

In 2008 he produced Rita's album Remazim, which went platinum, and in 2011 he launched the music project TYP with Johnny Goldstein. He judged The X Factor Israel from 2013 to 2018, lit a torch at the national Independence Day ceremony in 2024, and released his latest studio album, Chelek Lo Nifrad MeAcherim, in December 2024.
