Ben Ben Baruch ran an insurance company by day and told jokes at open-mic nights by night
Ben Ben Baruch was born in 1982 and grew up in Bat Yam. He played football for Maccabi Jaffa, earned a degree in business administration at the Tel Aviv-Yafo Academic College and sold insurance, and then founded the insurance company Migdalor with a partner and ran it. In the evenings he did stand-up at open-mic nights, for about four years, until he had a show of his own.
His parody of chef Asaf Granit, posted in 2015 while Granit was filming the first season of Mahapecha BaMitbach, went viral with about 730,000 views and grew into a series, and the show itself later brought him onto its fourth season in the role. He appeared on HaUniversita on Comedy Central in 2011 and later on Tzomet Miller and Anachnu BaMapa, and he filmed a whole stand-up show in the round at the Reading hall in Tel Aviv, with about 750 people seated all around the stage, which had passed 1.6 million views on YouTube by 2022.
He hosts the interview podcast HaMojo shel Ben Ben Baruch, long conversations of two to four hours, which in 2023 became HaErev Etzel Ben Ben Baruch, a Friday prime-time talk show on Reshet 13. Since February 2024 he has been part of Kan 11's stand-up and sketch show Moadon HaStand-Up, and he tours his own stand-up show around the country, at least eight times a month by his own count, having already filled halls as big as Menora Mivtachim.
