Red Band began in 2005 as a puppet street show on Tel Aviv's Rothschild Boulevard

Red Band is an Israeli puppet band that mixes music and humour. The puppeteers Ari Pepper, Micha Doman and Ami Wiesel founded it in 2005 as a street show called The Puppet Folk Revival, playing on Rothschild Boulevard, on the Nahalat Binyamin pedestrian mall and in Tel Aviv clubs, and in 2006 they toured abroad, with the Tárrega street art festival and street shows in Amsterdam, Barcelona and New York.

In summer 2008 the band took the name Red Band and became a TV series on HOT's video-on-demand service, the first Israeli series made for VOD, in which Israeli artists played themselves and sang with the puppets. It won the Israeli TV Academy award for comedy series in 2009, and from October 2013 the singer Red Auerbach co-hosted The Red and Dvir Show with Dvir Benedek on Channel 2.

On stage the band plays covers of well-known rock songs alongside American folk songs, and it has toured Israel and played in India, Germany and Costa Rica. With the singer Moran Aharoni it reached the final of HaKokhav HaBa, the contest to choose Israel's Eurovision 2025 entry, and in January 2026 it competed again, in a duet with the singer Gal De Paz.
