Ze'ev Nehama has sung for Ethnix and written its lyrics since the band began

Ze'ev Nehama was born in Tel Aviv in March 1961 and grew up in Holon. In the Tel Aviv club scene of the 1980s he was among the founders of Moskva, a protest band that played gloomy new wave. In 1989, on the advice of the head of the Helicon record label, the band changed its name and its style and became Ethnix.

He has been Ethnix's lead singer from the start, writes the lyrics of the band's songs and composes them with keyboard player Tamir Kaliski. A run of early 1990s albums, Masala (1991), Yelalat Tan (1992), with Tutim, and Adam V'Nahash (1993), with Jessica, made Ethnix the best-loved band in Israel at the time.

From the mid-1990s he and Kaliski also wrote and produced for others: Sharon Haziz's Bat HaKosem, three albums for Eyal Golan starting with Bil'adayich (1997), and hits such as HaTmunot SheBaAlbum for Haim Moshe, Isha Ne'emana for Ishay Levi and HaKol Sagur for Sarit Hadad. He received ACUM's lifetime achievement award in 2022, and in 2025 Ethnix released Italia, their first album in eight years.
