The Israel Police Heritage Center tells the story of the women and men who have enforced the law and kept internal security in Israel, from the end of the Ottoman period to today, through unique historical items, advanced multimedia displays and guided tours suited to each group of visitors. Its permanent exhibition shows hundreds of historical items used by police officers over the years, some of them unique in the world, with films, holograms and more: Menashe the watchman telling of his days under the British Mandate, a diary page recording the founding of the state, the story of the pioneering policewomen, the first bomb-disposal robot, destroyed while handling a device, and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that hides a secret. It is also the national memorial site for fallen police officers, where visitors can see the names of the officers who fell on duty, read about their lives and hear the story of one of them. It stands at the National Police Academy in the western industrial zone of Beit Shemesh, entry and activities are free, and it runs activities for families and for schools.
