The museum tells the story of Modi'in from the days of the Hasmonean family, through the periods since, to the founding of the modern city, as a multi-sensory and interactive experience. Beside its permanent archaeological exhibition it holds changing art exhibitions that set contemporary art in dialogue with the material heritage. Visitors enter an interactive room with four activities and a ride that shows a film with effects, taking them through a time tunnel to the growth of the modern city (the ride is for ages 4 and up), and the display includes an interactive table of the city's neighbourhoods, a reconstruction of an ancient burial cave, a healing station, a coin station and an archaeological display. It stands in the centre of Modi'in, its site says the region's rich historical sources and sites inspired it, and it holds special activities, workshops and lectures for adults and children, with tickets bought ahead on its website.
