Kiortosh's factory shop in the Segula industrial zone of Petah Tikva, selling the chain's caramel-coated Hungarian pastry, cakes and pies

Kiortosh began in 2006 in a shop on Bograshov Street in Tel Aviv: its site says chef Doron Regev found the Hungarian kürtőskalács on a roots trip and brought it to Israel. The kiortosh is a hollow, caramel-coated yeast pastry baked on a wooden spit in a special oven, and the chain's six branches also sell cakes, biscuits and pastries made by hand in its own factory. This branch is the factory shop, at 57 Ben Zion Galis Street in the Segula industrial zone of Petah Tikva. It opens from 07:00 to 20:00 from Sunday to Thursday and on Friday until an hour before Shabbat. The chain's menu prices a kiortosh at 42 shekels, its kiortosh ice creams at 55 and single pies at 36, and the site says the factory's products are kosher under the Petah Tikva rabbinate and Hatam Sofer Petah Tikva.
