HaNukta, in the old laundry of Kibbutz Sdot Yam, Sdot Yam

A small winery of three friends from Kibbutz Sdot Yam, south of Caesarea, making light Mediterranean wines and pouring them in a tasting space on a lawn above the sea.

Sdot Yam Winery belongs to three friends who grew up together on Kibbutz Sdot Yam, on the shore south of Caesarea: Yarden Tanen, who works with the growers and makes the wine, Almog Amir, who runs sales, events and marketing, and Eliran Levi, who sees to logistics, upkeep and bottling. They made their first two barrels in a small office on the kibbutz when the coronavirus years made them take up the idea, with advice from a friend who is now a chief winemaker in Australia, and grew to about 4,500 bottles of rosé and white in 2022 and 7,500 in 2023. Its wines are light, fruity Mediterranean wines from hand-picked grapes made with little intervention, among them a blush, a Pinot Gris, a Chenin Blanc, an orange wine and one called Nusani. At the end of 2024 the three opened HaNukta, a tasting space in the kibbutz's old laundry on a lawn looking out to sea, beside the original Nukta, the first stone building on the kibbutz.
