Barbis began in 2003, when two old friends opened a small burger bar in Eilat's tourist area that caught on with both locals and visitors. Six years later it moved to a larger place in the heart of Ofira Park, opposite the Dan Panorama hotel, and its site calls it the first diner in Eilat. Its signature is the "Reuben" burger, beef ground on the spot with flakes of cheddar that melt as it grills. A renovation in 2021 brought a new look and a tighter menu given over to burgers, beer and American-style ice cream.
