The museum of Marcel Janco, a founder of the Dada movement and of Ein Hod, in the heart of the artists' village on the Carmel ridge, with his work, changing contemporary exhibitions and a hands-on Dada workshop

The Janco-Dada Museum was founded in 1983 in the artists' village of Ein Hod by a group of friends of the artist Marcel Janco, one of the founders of the international Dada movement, who brought about the founding of Ein Hod in 1953. Run as a public non-profit association, it stands in the heart of the village on the Carmel ridge, about 20 km south of Haifa near Road 4. Its display spaces hold a permanent exhibition of seventy years of Janco's work, a gallery for young artists, a lower gallery of contemporary art, "the Pit", dug beneath the museum floor for video art, and the "Dada Lab", a workshop where visitors try Dada techniques such as collage, assemblage and the ready-made; Janco's original studio stands beside it. Each year it shows about twenty changing exhibitions of Israeli and international contemporary art, and its guides lead tours of the museum and the village in Hebrew, English, Russian and Arabic.
