The roastery of the mae cafe specialty coffee chain, in the Diamond Exchange district: beans from Central and South American farms roasted daily, with a café at the counter

mae cafe opened its first espresso bar in Costa Rica in 2006 and, by its own account, Israel's first specialty coffee company in 2011. Its Diamond Exchange branch on Tuval Street is the chain's roastery, which it calls the beating heart of mae: beans bought directly from farms in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Colombia arrive here and are roasted daily, and the smell reaches the street. Visitors can drink coffee with a pastry at the branch or buy freshly roasted beans for espresso or filter, which the chain also sells online. It is one of six mae cafe branches, two of them in Ramat Gan, and the chain also runs coffee workshops in Tel Aviv.
