A small natural history museum in Ramat Gan's National Park, beside the Safari, about people and the animal world

The Man and the Living World Museum is a small natural history museum founded in 1983 in a building once used for flower shows, in the heart of Ramat Gan's National Park beside the Safari. Its collection of more than 500 items, gathered since the 1980s from sources such as the Safari and university collections, includes skeletons, skulls, taxidermy, animal models, preserved specimens, shells and archaeological finds. Its permanent exhibitions cover the evolution of life on Earth, early humans, the animals of the Land of Israel with a diorama of the Judean Desert, movement, communication and the senses, and reproduction and heredity, while changing exhibitions on nature and the environment host artists from different fields. Its site says the permanent exhibition building is closed for renovation, and visits now take place in the educational centre and the gallery beside it, with a guided tour of the exhibition on show and the collections room and a craft workshop recommended from age 4. It holds activities for families at weekends and in the holidays.
