The University of Haifa's sports center is on the ground floor of the campus's Madrega building, at 199 Abba Hushi Avenue on Mount Carmel. Its gym covers about 400 square metres in three areas, for free training, for machines and for strength and aerobic work, with treadmills, elliptical trainers and spinning bikes, and its instructors give members a personal training programme at no extra cost. Beside the gym it has a squash club, a tennis court and a sports hall, with classes that include yoga and Pilates, and it runs a school for sports instructors and coaches. Gym memberships are sold to students, university staff, pensioners, soldiers, school pupils and outside members, and a health declaration is filled in before joining. The gym is open from 08:00 to 22:00 on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, from 07:00 to 22:00 on Tuesday and Thursday, from 09:00 to 15:00 on Friday and from 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturday.
