Hazedef was opened in 2002 by chef David Avital, near the sea in western Rishon LeZion, and its site says it has been part of the city's restaurant scene for more than two decades. It is a chef's restaurant for fish and seafood: sea bream, sea bass and red mullet from the grill or the pan, shrimps, mussels and blue crabs, with house salads that are refilled, and a meat menu of steaks, lamb chops and burgers beside them. The room is classic and roomy, and a private room for up to 100 people takes events and company dinners. The wine list leans on the Golan Heights Winery, and there are desserts, a children's menu and a set business lunch on weekdays.
