Beit HaFul, the house of ful, was founded in 1952, when, by the family's own account, the grandparents came to Israel and opened a small green hut in Beer Sheva's Shchuna Darom, serving food cooked from recipes they had brought from home in Egypt. It now has ten branches across the Negev, from Rahat to Dimona and Arad, and the Neve Ze'ev branch on Yohana Jabotinsky Street is its flagship. The menu is hummus with ful, mushrooms or shawarma, falafel, shawarma in a pitta or on a plate, schnitzel in grandmother's challah, and salads, pickles, tahini and hummus to take home. It opens from 09:00 to 22:00 Sunday to Thursday and until 14:30 on Friday.
