A family restaurant of Arab home cooking in Haifa, named after the family's father, with salads made fresh every day

Khaled Adawi is a Middle Eastern restaurant on Rav Aluf Yaakov Dori Street in Haifa, named after the father of the family that runs it. Its site speaks of more than 30 years in the city and of traditional flavours with modern additions. A meal opens with the house salads, made on the spot every day, and the flagship dishes are Adawi chicken and mujaddara, both family recipes, arayes, Aleppo kebab and maqluba. The hummus is made by hand from a recipe three generations old, and the meal ends with tea or coffee on the house. The family has a second restaurant in Kiryat Tivon, and the Haifa kitchen delivers in Haifa and Nesher from a separate menu.
