The Neve Shaanan Yoga Center is a school of Vijnana yoga, and its site says its story began almost 45 years ago in the flat of its founder, Orit Sen Gupta, on Neve Shaanan Street, where so few people had heard of yoga that her students practised in her living room. Over the years it grew into a place of its own on the same street, and when the founder handed the centre to two of her senior teachers, the studio moved to 14 Horkanya Street, which they renovated and painted themselves. It teaches weekly classes from beginners to advanced, rehabilitative yoga therapy for people recovering from an injury, recorded classes, workshops and a two-year teachers' course, and its tuition is paid by the month for one or two classes a week. It is open from 08:00 to 22:00 on Sunday, from about 07:30 or 08:00 until 20:15 or 20:45 from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:30 to 13:30 on Friday.
