Liebling Haus, the White City Center, was set up on the initiative of the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality and the German government to show and promote architecture, conservation and urban development, with a focus on modern architecture; its site recalls that UNESCO named the heart of Tel Aviv a World Heritage site in 2003. The house at 29 Idelson Street was built in 1936 for Toni and Max Liebling, designed by the architect Dov Karmi with the engineer Zvi Barak, and its site calls it an icon of the city's 1930s modern architecture, one of the historic houses around Bialik Square. Most of the original flats were kept in the conservation, which leaves the original building materials and details on view, and an audio app tells the story of the house and its residents. It holds an introductory exhibition on the White City, changing exhibitions, a research lab, a café, a garden in the spirit of the garden city, and talks, tours and workshops for the public, and entry is free.
