The museum of the painter, illustrator and children's author Nahum Gutman, in the 1887 Writers' House of Neve Tzedek

The Nahum Gutman Museum of Art opened on 3 May 1998, set up by the association named for the painter and the Tel Aviv Foundation, and its whole collection was given by the artist's family to show Gutman as a painter, illustrator, sculptor and children's author. It stands in a conserved building at 21 Shimon Rokach Street that the Shulman family built in 1887 as one of the first 48 houses of Neve Tzedek; from 1907 to 1914 it housed the newspaper HaPoel HaTzair, and with the writers who lived there it became known as the Writers' House. A new wing opened in 2009 on the site of the Ottoman guard post, both buildings designed by the architect Roni Seibert, with a bridge joining them since 2019. Its exhibitions set Gutman's work beside today's Israeli artists, and its site says the museum is accessible to people with disabilities.
