Cicchetti takes its name from the Italian for small plates and, by its site, is a tribute to Venice's neighbourhood bars: not quite a restaurant and not quite a wine bar. Chef Michael Gartofsky's menu is made of small plates that change with the seasons and rest on traditional Italian regional cooking, to nibble beside a cocktail or build into a full dinner with a carafe of wine. The cocktails are by Avi Kashi, the owner, who also hosts at the bar. It opens from 16:00 on weekdays, with 30% off the whole menu until 18:00, and serves brunch on Friday and Saturday. It sits in a building listed for preservation.
